The Kansas City Chiefs Superbowl Mascot is coming to Clay Center on Sunday, June 25! The community-wide event hosted by Clay Center Covenant Church will feature KC Wolf Dan Meers as he shares his inspirational story and testimony of how God has worked through his life. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Dexter Park in Clay Center, KS, with free pulled pork sandwiches (while they last), a bounce house, and food trucks. Meers will begin sharing his personal story at 7:30 p.m. and the vendors will reopen after his talk is over.

Meers has been KC Wolf, the mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs, for more than 30 years and was selected as the first NFL mascot inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006. Meers travels throughout the United States and world entertaining thousands of people, both in and out of costume. He is the author of the book “Wolves Can’t Fly” which documents some of his story, including an event in 2013 where Meers came within inches of losing his life while practicing a stunt at Arrowhead Stadium.

Whether you are a KC Chiefs fan or not, Meers’s story is inspirational as he shares his unique wit and wisdom about life. His work and experiences as a professional sports mascot have reinforced to him the philosophy that laughter and a cheerful heart are good medicine.

The event is open to everyone in the community. Bring a lawn chair or blanket!
