Barclay College Theatre’s production of “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” Opens November 11, 2022
HAVILAND, KS – September 2, 2022 -- Barclay College Theatre announces their fall production, “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe,” opening Friday, November 11, in the Ross-Ellis Center for Arts and Ministry on the Barclay College Campus. The play will run through November 20. Tickets go on sale on September 2 and can be purchased at www.barclaycollege.edu/LWW.
Acclaimed playwright Joseph Robinette has adapted the beloved C.S. Lewis novel of the same name to a staged version containing all the magic of the book. The story follows the four Pevensie children in their adventures in Narnia, a world only reached through a large wooden wardrobe.
Director Randi Shetley is taking the show to the next level by adding background music, four original dances, and an incredible battle scene to the existing script. Traci Ballard, whose choreography has wowed Barclay College Theatre audiences for the past five years, will create original Tap, Irish, Jazz, and Swing dances for this production. Costume designers Deb Folkerts and Lori Binford have already begun creating unique looks for the show. Tony Factor will be teaching stage combat for the epic battle.
“I am so excited about this production!” says Randi, “Reading ‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’ was life-changing to me as a 12-year-old. I have read CS Lewis’ Narnia books many times over the years. To have the opportunity to bring this story to life on stage is truly a dream come true.”
